'Contrast and Amalgam' is a collection with a universe of its own. A lore, of sorts. A very dear project to me, as it touches themes that are, in my opinion, very important to the understanding of human history and perception of reality.
I was hired by a dear friend, who shares with me a lot regarding subjective readings about art and its creative processes, to create an art collection for him. This is a collection about contrast and amalgam, as the title says, but ties knots with so much more than that. Within this short lore I wrote, contrast and amalgamation are two major force of natures that are directly tied to the creation and further development of the universe itself.
It's in projects like these that I let slip my psychoanalysis background, a field of study I dwelved in for quite some time in my life. What I find truly interesting about that, in this context, is that this knowledge is deeply amalgamated within my subjective development as an artist. I believe this brings - hopefully - a unique perspective and unusual kinds of associations and understandings.
